Fine Tree Care utilizes would chippers to turn useless brush and other woody materials into a much reduced and often more useful form. These machines are very powerful pieces of equipment and as such can be very dangerous if used improperly. However, when used by trained professionals, chippers are wonderful. They can reduce the size of a pile of brush into a fraction of the original, allowing for much more efficient and environmentally sound disposal. The chips produced are also good for spreading in areas where weed suppression, erosion control defined pathways are desirable.
Some people think that chips are a fire hazard, but this is not true. When stacked in piles, wood chips are notoriously hard to burn, and if somehow they do, they usually just smolder, rarely producing an open flame. Compared with unprocessed brush, chips are far safer.
Now that Sudden Oak Death pathogens have spread across Sonoma County, it is no longer important to tightly control the disposal of chips. Since the exposure is so wide-spread, the danger of infection through chipped material is minimal. Common sense precautions should still be observed but tightly controlling chips and chippers has lost its effectiveness in controlling SOD.

Tree Stump Grinding Services
Stump grinders generally use sharp teeth on a large disk to grind a stump down to ground level or below. They come in a wide range of sizes from two wheeled hand guided models to huge pieces of heavy equipment that are either stand-alone models or attached to a tractor.
The smaller models are good because they can get into areas with either limited or difficult access such as fenced yards or slopes. The downside is that they are more limited in what they can achieve, and they take longer to finish the job.
Larger models are amazing but expensive to run and require easy access such as fields or other open spaces with relatively level ground. These models will make quick work of grinding even huge stumps with deep roots into little pieces way below the surface. Their downside is expense. Fine Tree Care also specializes in excavation and disposal of large stumps and the entire root system of a tree when it is imperative to remove all woody materials from the soil.
